Building Permit Application

The fee for a residential remodeling building permit is $35. New residential construction building permits are based on a sliding scale. Commercial building permits are based on the value of the project (call 316-747-2109 for estimated commercial building permit costs). fees updated May 2020.

If the construction work being performed will significantly impact the value of the property, the Neighborhood Revitalization Plan (NRP) may be an option. The NRP Program is designed to provide property tax rebates (on the increase in value based on improvements) for up to ten years. If the improvement or construction project increases the value of a residential property by 10% or $5,000, whichever is greater, or commercial property by 15% or $10,000, whichever is greater, then the NRP Program could benefit you as the taxpayer.
