National Flood Insurance Program
(NFIP)On July 15, 2003, the City of Douglass approved Ordinance 690 which is an ordinance to adopt floodplain management regulations and incorporating by reference new flood plain regulations based on the model recommended by FEMA and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. The purpose of this ordinance is to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare and to minimize losses by becoming a member and participating in the National Flood Insurance Program. This will now allow any resident in the City of Douglass to purchase flood insurance if they desire to do so. For any questions, please contact City Hall at 747-2109.
