Animal Control - Lost Pets listed here
Look here for lost pets... Pets picked up by Animal Control will normally be posted here. ***We have the report of someone who has found a male bassett hound. If you have lost one, please call City Hall at 747-2109 for more information.*** The City currently has no dogs in impound. Pet licenses are due at the beginning of each year. *The City has decided again this year to issue pet licenses free of charge for the Months of December, January, and February. Please stop in and license your pet. We will need a copy of the rabies vaccination, so bring that with you if you have it. pcf

Ordinance 680Animals/Public Nuisance
This is, by definition, any animal or animals which:
*Molests passers-by or passing vehicles
*Attacks or charges people or other animals
*Trespasses on school grounds
*Is repeatedly at large
*Damages public or private property
*Barks, whines or howls in an excessive, continuous or untimely fashion
*Deposits excretory matter on property other than that of the owner
If a violation occurs, the City will issue a notice to appear in Douglass Municipal Court, and you will incur a fine amount and court costs.

Animal Registration
City Codes require the registration of any and all dogs and cats over six months of age. You may register your pets by purchasing City tags at City Hall or at the Douglass Animal Clinic. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required at the time of registration. City pet tags are valid from January 1 through December 31 for each year. The cost is $3.00 for each dog or cat that has been spayed or neutered and $5.00 each for those that haven't. pcf
